The Northwest Insulation Workers Welfare Trust was established on June 23, 1952 to provide medical and other welfare benefits for eligible Local 7, 82 and 97 members and their dependents through the collective bargaining process.

American Rescue Plan – COBRA Subsidies
Effective April 1, 2021, employees (and their dependents) who lose coverage or who have lost coverage in the past 18 months due to an involuntary termination of employment or reduction in hours may be eligible for up to six months of free (fully subsidized) COBRA coverage (for the months of April 2021 – September 2021). Update on COVID-19 Outbreak
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and in the interest of keeping the community and our staff as safe and healthy as possible, all WPAS offices (Mercer Island, Gladstone, Anchorage, Spokane) will be closed for walk-in services effective March 17, 2020. WPAS will only be conducting business via phone, email, or fax. If you need to bring documentation or information to the office, there are drop boxes available at each of our office locations. June 1, 2016 – New Administrator
Effective June 1, 2016, Welfare & Pension Administration Service, Inc. (WPAS) has been selected as the new Administrator for the Trust. WPAS will assume responsibility for administration of health plan enrollment and eligibility processing. WPAS is a Union shop that specializes in the administration of Union benefit plans.
Please note there are no changes to your medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life/AD&D and time loss benefits. Your coverage will continue through Aetna. Click here for a copy of the notice to members.
